OFA Preliminary Scores

IMPORTANT
Preliminary Scores are given by the OFA for dogs that are under the specified
age requirements of their organization to receive permanent scores. Many
breeders participate in this program to pre-screen their breeding stock. It must be stressed that preliminary scores are just
that, preliminary, and should not be viewed as permanent scores. To receive a
permanent score, a dog must be rescreened at or over 24 months of age. Do not
accept or rely on preliminary scores when choosing a stud dog or parents of a
puppy. Always ask for the dogs PERMANENT OFA score documentation.
