This is Meg, the first Dogue de Bordeaux rescued by the the DDBS, July 24, 1997.  She was found by a NY shelter wandering the streets and was picked up by a DDBS member, Bridgette Antonocci-Milano, brought to MA by Anna Reich and Tammy Hickey, and fostered for a month with Tammy. She was adopted by Jeri Arledge, and lived happily and content during her last year.

Meg had suffered with various problems stemming from her hips and spine. Meg as passed over the Rainbow bridge and is now playing and bouncing without pain with many dog friends. Meg will always be near to our hearts. She has paved the way for many Dogue de Bordeaux who have been abused, abandoned, and unloved.

 

Today the Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue of the DDBS saves and assists over 50 Dogues de Bordeaux and Dogue de Bordeaux mixes every year.  A large network of volunteers goes across North America, but there is never enough help for the ever increasing numbers.
